What is an Adult Learning Center?

An adult learning center is a combination one-room schoolhouse and public library. The instruction is individualized, meaning you work at your own level and at your own pace. This allows you to come and go according to your schedule.

Is this just like going to school?

No, not at all! This is a program especially designed for adults (16 years and older).  Students work with a certified teacher, Christine McConnell, and use the center’s computer lab and two study rooms.

Who Can Attend?

If you are at least 16 years old and not attending a regular school, the doors of the Learning Center are open to you.

How much will it cost?

There is no fee for this program.

What will I learn?

What do you want to learn? Each student works with the Center’s director, Christine McConnell, a certified teacher, to create his or her own learning plan according to his or her needs. It’s all up to you.

At the Chesterton Adult Learning Center you can:

Work on basic reading, writing and math skills
Brush up on your grammar and punctuation
